Nextdoorland is getting relentlessly tepid reviews. It's as if Underwater Moonlight just came out last year and critics are approaching this as the lame follow-up album.

Folks, let's recall that this is a reunion album put together quickly by a bunch of fellows who have had lives and careers and successes in the intervening decades. Considering that, I think it's a damn good effort. I especially like the song "Mr. Kennedy"...and "Strings" is the kind of song that made me love the Soft Boys in the first place.
