Last night I stayed in and watched Billy Jack.

What a bizarre movie. It features some of the worst acting and hokiest writing I've ever witnessed on film...and yet it is completely riveting and deeply moving.

If you haven't seen it, the basic gist is: "pacifism is great...exept for the times when you need to kick some ass." Billy Jack is such a romantic figure because he honors the ways of the supernatural world (he's half-Native American), loves children and respects women...but he is also a Hapkido master and macho protector. He's the perfect man!

Found out later that the star of the film also directed it (he's not credited) and later went on to become a respected Jungian analyst.
