Cold weather movie fest continued today with Amelie...I was charmed and entertained by it but at the same time kept thinking, "What an amazing amount of effort must have gone into a film that is really nothin' but cotton candy...." So I guess I'm a curmudgeon.

Later we spent our Saturday night at the laundromat. It wasn't bad--it was energizing, in fact. And there is this special, tacit comeraderie amongst laundromat patrons at 10:00 PM on Saturday, very similar to the one shared by McDonald's customers. "Here we all are. We've come by choice. What is wrong with us?"
